What You'll Be Eating on Body Beast

What to eat with Body Beast
Have you ever heard the saying "abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym"? It's true, but when you're training with Body Beast™, nutrition is an art. To build the muscles you desire, it's imperative that you not only eat the right foods, but also that you eat enough of them each day. As Sagi says, food is "100 percent of the equation . . . if you don't eat enough of the right foods, you simply can't get big!"
To build mass, depending on your current weight and how much mass you want to gain, you'll need to consume between 1,800 and 5,000 calories in 5 to 6 evenly-spaced meals. The amount of food you need to eat and the percentage of macronutrients (protein, fat, carbs) your body requires will depend on what phase you're on in the plan.

The Three Body Beast Phases

Build. During this phase, you'll be creating a strong physical and nutritional foundation to build upon in the latter two phases.
Bulk. This phase is designed for you to add mass and for you to start to see size gains. You'll need to eat enough protein to bulk up, but you'll also need a high-carb diet to give your body enough energy to get through these intense workouts.
Beast. In this third phase, your goal is to strip away any remaining fat covering the big muscles you've built in the Build and Bulk phases. In this short phase, your diet will switch to high-protein, low-carb to help shred those remaining pounds. You'll get cut and chiseled as you prepare for competition or a photo shoot.

How Do I Eat This Many Calories?

For most of you, we know that consuming 3,000, 4,000, or even 5,000 calories in a day is a lot more than you're accustomed to eating. You'll get used to it, and with the Body Beast workouts your body will crave calories. You'll get these in four ways:

Meals. We recommend eating 3 meals and 3 snacks throughout the day. Eating this way will keep your hunger at bay and keep your blood sugar levels more even.

Liquids. Because your body feels less full when you drink your calories, healthy liquids (juice, dairy, rice milk, almond milk, and the Beast-O-Matic Mass Gainer Shakes below) are a great way to get the calories you need without feeling stuffed.

Beast-O-Matic Mass Gainer Shakes. These delicious shakes are designed to pack as many calories into a glass as possible. They're great for when you're on the go or when you need calories fast.

Supplements. We have designed four supplements specifically for the Body Beast program: the high-protein Beachbody® Hardcore Base Shake, the high-carb Beachbody® Fuel Shot, Beachbody® M.A.X. Muscle Acceleration Xtreme Creatine, and Beachbody® Super Suma. Read more about these four integral products on the Supplements page.
